Shame Show & Tell: The Untold Stories of the Struggle for Success

“Fail fast, fail often.” It’s a much-loved (and perhaps, over-used) phrase that captures the spirit of many successful entrepreneurs. There’s a joke in Silicon Valley that until you have a couple of failed companies under your belt, people may not even take you seriously. So then, why is it so hard for us to talk about failure? Why do we only lift up stories of success, and not the long, hard journey it takes to get there? Whether in our workplaces or in our personal lives, we all experience struggles – and we know that it’s from these experiences that we can grow and learn the most. Join us as leaders from Gener8tor, Meat on the Street, MobCraft Beer, OnMilwaukee and more share stories of their biggest struggles, and how those struggles ultimately led to success. Featured Speakers: • Adrienne Palm, Director of gBETA Musictech & gBETA Northeast Wisconsin at gener8tor • Alexa Alfaro, Co-Founder of Meat on the Street • Michael Cerda, Founder of Cerda Design Co • Wes Tank, Freelance Filmmaker, Performer, Artist • Henry Schwartz, Founder of MobCraft Beer • Molly Snyder, Senior Writer/Editorial Manager at OnMilwaukee • Kiran "Q the Sun" Vedula, Creator/Curator/Educator +++ This event is part of YPWeek Milwaukee presented by Concordia University Wisconsin. YPWeek is a week long platform for discovery, adventure and meaningful conversations about the issues that matter among young professionals. This interactive conference brings together key leaders in the community, at purposefully chosen locations that integrate the unique cultural assets with meaningful learning or social interaction. The activities engage the next generation in experiences that are important to you as a YP while educating your employers on the important role these functions play in retaining you as their workforce.
