Milwaukee Talks: New Wisconsin Center District president Marty Brooks
Just weeks into his new job, Marty Brooks, president of the Wisconsin Center District (WCD), sat down with Wisconsin Center board member and OnMilwaukee president Jeff Sherman to discuss the opportunity, the district's three venues – Miller High Life Theatre, Convention Center and UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena – minor league hockey, Milwaukee, the district's ownership of the new Milwaukee Bucks arena (the Bucks will run under a 30-year lease) and much more.
The Wisconsin Center District board hired Brooks at an opportune time for the public entity, funded by revenue from its facilities and hospitality-related sales taxes.
Brooks began Jan. 22, after serving as senior vice president and general manager of the America's Center Complex in St. Louis, which includes a convention hall and the stadium where the St. Louis Rams used to play.
Milwaukee is new to Brooks and his family, but he is a veteran of the tourism, event and concert industries. Enjoy this Milwaukee Talks with Marty Brooks.
