Ice Castles opening Wednesday in Lake Geneva

The beautifully lit ice formations – aka Ice Castles – you've had to travel to the Dells, or to Stillwater, Minnesota, to see in the past are now even closer.

The Utah-based Ice Castles, LLC, which organizes the spectacles around the country each winter, is bringing the castles to the shores of Lake Geneva this year and after much anticipation, they are opening to the public on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Tickets are on sale now via the website, but hurry because some days, especially weekends, are selling out quickly.

Admission to the castles at the Lake Geneva Riviera Beach, 812 Wrigley Dr., is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-9 p.m., Fridays, 4-10:30 p.m., Saturdays, noon until 10:30 p.m. and Sundays, noon-8 p.m.

More information is on the company's website, and there are some details on Facebook:

and on Instagram:

At the moment, Feb. 16 is the last date listed on the ticket page for the Ice Castles.

Here's a look at some winter fun for the whole family in Lake Geneva, while you're down there.
