Discovery World flips the switch to "Power On"

Discovery World will host a launch celebration for its new "Power On" energy experience on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 9 a.m.

Discovery World President Joel Brennan, WEC Energy Group President Kevin Fletcher and local students will be on hand at the science and technology center, 500 N. Harbor Dr., to unveil the exhibition, which will occupy reconfigured theater space adjacent to a recently added wing of the center.

"Power On" will, a press release noted, allow "students and families to touch
lightning, explore wind turbines, experiment with gravitational potential energy, and encounter amazing energy transformations.

"'Power On' provides a unique experience for school groups and engages them directly with science experiments and activities designed to inspire a lifelong interest in STEM as well as the potential career opportunities associated with the energy industry."
