Spring Adventure Days (for children in 1st – 6th grade)

Animals in Spring School's out and it's time to welcome back the migrating and hibernating animals. Which birds migrate back to Milwaukee in spring? When do chipmunks wake up from hibernation? Meet the plants and animals of Riverside Park and use your five senses to learn about the changes species undergo this time of year. Join us for a whole day of spring fun. Dress for the weather and bring a bag lunch. Register for grades 1 to 3 or 4 to 6

Spring Adventure Days. Earth Heroes (for children in 1st – 6th grade)

It's spring and school's out, let's get outside! Build shelters, learn the Leave No Trace practices of campfire cooking and head out on an orienteering course. Explore and ask questions through hikes, games, crafts and more! Join us for a whole day of spring fun. Dress for the weather and bring a bag lunch. Register for grades 1 to 3 or 4 to 6.

John Muir’s World

Celebrate Earth Day by meeting the father of our modern environmental movement, Sierra Club, and national parks, John Muir, portrayed by actor Paul Akert, at the Riverside Urban Ecology Center in Milwaukee. The “John Muir’s World” program is free (donations appreciated) and open to the public.

Coffee and Canoe

What better way to enjoy your Sunday morning than to sip on coffee and canoe down the Milwaukee River? Meet us at the Rowing Club (1990 N. Commerce Street) and we’ll have morning beverages and treats to get you fueled up. See you on the river! Sunday, May 12 and 26.

Full Moon Canoe (Led by a NASA Airborne Astronomy Ambassador)

Paddle down the Milwaukee River with UWM’s Planetarium Director, Jean Creighton. While enjoying the full moon above you’ll learn about our nearest celestial neighbor, other exotic moons in the solar system, and more intriguing objects scattered through space from an expert astronomer. Meet at the Milwaukee Rowing Club Boathouse (1990 N Commerce St.). Registration and non-refundable payment required by 5pm the day before the event. Personal boats are not allowed in our paddling programs. May 17 and 18.
