Brewers' 12th annual "Cerveceros Day" set for tomorrow afternoon's game

Salud, amor, dinero y … la victoria! The Brewers on Saturday will host the 12th annual "Cerveceros Day" at Miller Park, when Milwaukee takes on the Miami Marlins at 3:10 p.m. The celebration honors the heritage and importance of Latin American culture to the game of baseball.

The team will take the field in jerseys with the traditional "Brewers" script replaced by the Spanish translation "Cerveceros." The stadium will have a Latin American all day, with scoreboard features, mariachi bands and more. Cerveceros Day is sponsored by Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Before the game, Mariachi Monarcas de Milwaukee will entertain fans with music on the plaza near the home plate gate. The local group will also perform the national anthem. During pregame at the Clock Tower Plaza, the Dance Academy of Mexico, a local performance group for kids in Milwaukee, will show off some of its routines. And starting 90 minutes before first pitch, local band Nabori will play at Friday's Patio, as well as doing an hour-long concert after the game.

Fans can try tasty treats, too, as the Brewers will offer different foods and beverages Saturday night. Specialty candy will be available for purchase at the Field Level Grab and Go, while churros will be sold at the custard stands in the First and Third Base Wards. For those over the age of 21, Espolon Paloma's, Espolon Margaritas and Michelada's will be on tap at the First and Third Base Ward bars.

The Brewers Team Store by Majestic in the Hot Corner will also have a variety of Cerveceros T-shirts for purchase, with select styles available while supplies last.

According to the club, the Brewers Community Foundation will auction off the commemorative "Cerveceros" uniforms worn by players and coaches. The online auction at begins on Monday, July 3 at 11 a.m. and concludes on Sunday, July 9 at 8 p.m. A portion of the money raised will go directly to Brewers Community Foundation and will be earmarked for the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee Scholarship Fund.

The Cerveceros theme night package, which gave fans a ticket to the game and a tailgate chair, has sold out, as has the popular "Cerveceros Tailgate" event at Helfaer Field hosted by the non-profit advocacy organization UMOS. However, tickets in most general Miller Park seating areas are still available.
