Steinhafels Designer 2.0 videos: Inside an interior designer's thought process
Here at Steinhafels, we are SO lucky to have an overabundance of talent within our company. Our Decorating Solutions interior designers are some of the best in the business, and we like to brag about them every once in awhile!
In addition to fabulous designers, we have skilled videographers and photographers on staff. Their highly trained eyes bring our design projects to life via the gorgeous still photos you see on our Decorating Solutions Before and After webpage. We've been featuring a project monthly right here in OnMilwaukee and have gotten some great feedback from our customers.
Now, we're taking things up a notch!
We're proud to present our new "Designer 2.0" videos. Our designers sit down with our in-house film crew, and discuss various design projects. Our editors then lay video and still pictures over the descriptions to produce robust, beautiful videos that truly enhance our Decorating Solution projects.
Today, we take a closer look at a project by one of our designers based in our Menomonee Falls store. Aaron Keller has decorated hundreds of spaces – ranging from traditional to transitional, to contemporary and rustic. Aaron says, "Regardless of the type of space, I feel every home deserves to have a 'wow' factor."
Check out Aaron's 2.0 video:
For this specific project, Aaron wanted to create an airy, light space for his client. In describing his project goals, he says, "She came from an open concept living situation, and she purchased this house. We wanted to create that open concept feel in an older home. We went ahead and lightened the ceiling up to make it white, with more streamlined furniture – a less is more concept, very elegant, sophisticated look."
We no longer carry some of the items in the video, and many of the products are special order, but here's a few examples of products that were either used in the project, or are similar to the pieces featured in Aaron's video.
In addition to sophisticated elegance, Aaron wanted to give the project a rustic touch. He recalls, "We brought a little bit of nature in, since we're taking advantage of that view with natural elements like twigs behind the sofa. Fabrics I chose had a natural feel to them as well – there were twigs on the fabric, but then also mixing in that elegance of the mercury glass on the glass top table, reflective qualities – just a very light, open feel. My favorite thing about the project probably was honestly the twigs (laughs). I really like working with bringing that nature in – it was one of the least expensive parts of the process!"
