If it's just not Christmas in your home without a fresh tannenbaum, here's a list of places throughout Southeastern Wisconsin that can help you find the perfect tree.

Most places offer the opportunity to choose and cut your tree or purchase a pre-cut tree. But, of course, we recommend you call ahead with specific questions.

Buffalo Bill's Choose & Cut Christmas Trees

Starting Nov. 27, open Friday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and are closed on Mondays, through Dec. 22. Balsam, Canaan and Fraser Fir, as well as Scotch Pine trees. Free shaking and bailing. Stop by weekends for free hot drinks, children's crafts, face painting and surprise visits from Santa. Make time for a scenic walk along the creek.

Locally grown and harvested Christmas trees will be for sale in front of Hacienda Brewing Co. starting Wednesday, Nov. 27. The 7-8 foot Douglas Firs will be available for $45 each (until they are sold out). Proceeds from the sales go to The East Side BID, a 201(c)3 nonprofit, and Black Cat Alley.

Kellner Greenhouse

The venerable Kellner Greenhouses, 3258 N. Humboldt Ave., in Riverwest is a fun, neighborhood stop for trees, wreaths and more. From Nov. 25 to Dec. 20, drive up and they'll tie your tree nicely to the top of your car. Stop at Colectivo, right up the street, for a hot chocolate. It's a great Milwaukee day.

Open from 9 a.m. to dusk Fridays through Sundays after Thanksgiving. Choose from White and Blue Spruce, White Pine, Balsam and Fraser Firs. Fraser Firs are also available pre-cut.

The North Pole

Prospect Hill Gardens

Open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Prospect Hill Gardens has a selection of fresh-cut Christmas trees, tabletop trees, wreaths, and boughs cut to any length.

Riehle's Tree Farm, Inc.

Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., visit Riehle's for pre-cut and wreaths. Choose and cut your own Scotch Pine, White Pine, Red and Norway pine, Blue & White spruce, some Balsam & Fraser Firs, Austrian pine, Douglas fir, Serbian spruce and Canaan Fir. Fresh-cut varieties are also available, along with wreaths, garland, boughs, tree stands and crafts.

Sugar Creek Tree Farm

Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Christmas. Colorado Blue Spruce, White Spruce, Fresh-cut Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine and Norway Pine are available on this 32-acre family farm. Saws and twine provided.

Trees For Less Nursery

Open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 and by appointment sundays at the Grafton location and daily from 8 a.m. to dusk at the Mequon location through Dec. 23. Offering choose-and-cut Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir, Concolor Fir, Blue Spruce, Scotch Pine and White Spruce. Pick up your holiday wreath and boughs, and enjoy a hayride to the cutting fields and refreshments while your tree is baled and loaded for free.

There are also a number of Christmas tree pop-up "shops" around town, including Callister's Christmas at Brookfield Square and Mayfair Malls.
