Holy Serpent Bake Sale on Dec. 13 to benefit Milwaukee Women's Center
The holiday season is a time to do good. And that's exactly what 15+ women bakers, chefs and makers aim to do through the Holy Serpent Bake Sale, which take place on Friday, Dec. 13 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Held in the beautiful Muza Church art studio at 2114 9th Ave., in South Milwaukee, the Holy Serpent Bake Sale will feature specialty baked goods packaged for purchase by the dozen, along with a DJ in the choir balcony, great raffle prizes and classic holiday bites from Theresa Schuenke of Hot Knife.
Proceeds from the event will support the work of the Milwaukee Women's Center, a resource which provides comprehensive services and treatment for women, men, and children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence, addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, and poverty.
Participating bakers include Lisa Kirkpatrick of Goodkind, Katie O'Neil of Milk Bottle Bakery, Jaceleen Latin-Monagle of JVR Hospitality Group, Alicia McQuade of Sur La Table, Annie Dinkelman of Odd Duck, Serena Blanchett of Black Shoe Hospitality, the Madison Culinary Ladies Collective and more.
There will also be goods from makers and artists including Niffitch, Future ceramics, Thief Island Vintage Jenny Jo Wennlund and Margaret Muza.
A pre-event donation of $12 can be made online and includes admission, plus a variety of spiffs. A donation of $15 is suggested at the door.
