The Holiday Train will again roll through Wisconsin.

CP Rail announces 2018 Holiday Train schedule

Once again the CP Rail Holiday Train will roll through the Milwaukee area this December, with stops in Sturtevant, Downtown, Tosa, Hartland and Oconomowoc over two days.

Launched in 1999, the train has raised more than $11 million and collected more than 4.3 million pounds of food for food banks along the route in the U.S. and Canada.

Two trains depart Montreal in late November and, together, will visit 164 communities for free events with live music and more.

Adorned with bright lights and festive live music by Canada's The Trews and Milwaukee's own Willy Porter as the train journeys through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota before arriving at its final destination in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, on Dec. 16.

The train stops in Sturtevant and the Intermodal Station in Downtown Milwaukee on Dec. 6 and hits Tosa, Hartland and Oconomowoc before heading out to Watertown, Columbus and other points west on Dec. 7. The complete schedule, with a map, is here.

"I am both grateful and excited to be a part of the CP Holiday Train's 20th Anniversary Band as we roll across North America," said Porter. "Each whistle stop combines humanitarian effort with the musical spirit of the holidays making the CP Holiday Train one of the greatest projects I have had the honour to be a part of!"

Porter has performed with the Holiday Train a couple times in the past.
