NEWaukee cancels tonight's Night Market due to weather

Bummer news, Brew City: NEWaukee announced that tonight's Night Market has been cancelled.

NEWaukee's Night Market is one of the city's most enjoyable events, once a month bringing a diverse collection of people, food, drinks, crafty creations and mingling into the heart of Downtown Milwaukee. Unfortunately, day one last month was beset by bad weather, and the forecast for day two's market, originally scheduled for tonight from 5 until 10 p.m., looked even worse, forcing NEWaukee to announce its cancellation.

NEWaukee made the announcement official on Facebook and Twitter early this afternoon, citing concerns about the impending weather:

The third night of the scheduled four-event Night Market for 2017 is set for Wednesday, Aug. 16 – and we hope to see you all there (except you, storm clouds; you're not invited this time).

In the meantime, while you may not be able to peruse its tent tonight, Big White Yeti, a local soy handmade candle brand, is offering free shipping until Friday. So at least all is not for naught.
