Four more 2020 Wisconsin fairs canceled
Four more fairs in the state have been canceled, according to a joint announcement this morning.
Washington County, Waukesha County, Jefferson County and the Northern Wisconsin State Fairs have decided to halt this year's festivals in the face of COVID-19 fears.
The Washington County Fair was set to be held July 21-26, and will take place July 20-25, 2021.
Meanwhile, Waukesha County Fair – the oldest in the state – was to run July 15-19. Fans will have to wait until July 21-25, 2021 for the next one.
"This decision was extremely difficult, and the impact will weigh heavily on all of us," said Kellie Boone, executive director of the Washington County Fair.
"We thank our community and fair family for their support and understanding as we move forward to when we can all come back together at the 2021 Washington County Fair."
Washington County Fair headliners LANCO and Brantley Gilbert have agreed to move their performances to the 2021 Fair, with LANCO performing on Thursday July 22 and Gilbert playing Saturday July 24.
Tickets already purchased will be honored for the 2021 dates, or can be refunded instead.
As of June 1, the Ozaukee County Fair is still on for July 29-Aug. 2.
