Black Arts Fest MKE back in 2019
Black Arts Fest MKE returns this summer for the second year celebrating African and African-American culture. The fest will run Saturday, Aug. 3, from noon to midnight at Henry Maier Festival Park.
"The community showed tremendous support, and we heard spectacular feedback about the first Black Arts Fest MKE," Patrice Harris, the executive director of the event, said in a statement.
Black Arts Fest will showcase African and African-American music, dance, education, art and food. The music lineup is TBA, but last year's festival, which attracted around 9,000 visitors, included headliners MC Lyte, Bobby Rush and Tony! Toni! Tone!
Advance tickets are $9 ($12 at the gate), $8 for kids ages 8 to 11 and free for children 7 and younger, as well as veterans and members of the military with I.D. Advance tickets and more information or applications for vendors and volunteers go here.
