The Hank Aaron State Trail is 12 miles of continuously connected bike and walking trails - some are on the street - that connects the lakefront with Milwaukee's West Side. I rode the section of the trail and here is some of what I found along the way.

The Milwaukee Soccer Development Group is hosting a tailgate and a soccer march from the Twisted Fisherman Crab Shack to the Valley Fields stadium in advance of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University men's match on Sept. 17. The tailgate and march is designed to not only support the two college programs, but to display Milwaukee's interest in pro soccer coming to the city.

Believe it not, for as popular as day drinking is in Milwaukee, this category has not been a part of the OnMilwaukee.com Best of Bars voting since The Nomad won in 2009. Who took home the crown this year?

Next month, Rio West Cantina, 2730 N. Humboldt Blvd., will become the Milwauke Beer Bistro.
