Robert King and Ryan Bonen will soon open The Phoenix Lounge in the former Duplex, 785 N. Jefferson St. King and Bonen also own the Bad Genie, which is next door to the future Phoenix, and the kitchen inside Yield Bar, called Comiskey's, 1932 E. Kenilworth Pl.

A lot can go into heading out for a big night on the town. Calling people up, coordinating rides, getting a presentable outfit together, worming through packed clubs - it can be fun, but mostly it's enough to just make you want to stay at home. But, according to local bar owner William Jenkins, it doesn't have to be that way. Thanks to his latest venture - The Duplex - those craving the nightlife will no longer have to choose between going out and staying in.


Big plans for old Serum space

William Jenkins, the owner of Ivy Lounge, plans to open a new, two-story lounge and restaurant in the former Serum space, 785 N. Jefferson St. He plans to call the new venture "The Duplex" and says he will start off serving beverages but hopes to eventually offer food.
