Take one final look inside the Sisters of St. Francis chapel before it's gone. While my visit to the St. Francis complex that is home to the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi didn't uncover any evidence of tunnels and caves on the southern end of Bay View or anything like that - not that I necessarily thought it would, mind you, but, hey, you never know! - I by no means left disappointed.

The old Motherhouse complex, dating as far back as 1861, at the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi in St. Francis is about to be torn down. We went over for one last look ... and a final walk through the tunnels.

Jean L Merry, communications director of Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, says that the former St. Mary's Academy/Marian Center building at 3195 S. Superior St., in St. Francis, will be deconstructed and replaced.

The most impressive bowlers in Milwaukee don't knock down pins in the AMF Bowlero, but share dignity, grace and camaraderie by Wii bowling in a placed called the Motherhouse. I immediately thought it would be a fun, even comedic story, describing what these nuns were doing. After visiting with them, I found the more impressive and accurate tale rested in what they have done.
