The first time I ordered a sandwich in Singapore was soon after I arrived in 2006. I almost broke out laughing when my ham and cheese came with one thin slice of ham and one slice of American cheese. I wrote it off to being in the wrong place for a real sandwich.

Not just any sandwich, but the famous Primanti Brothers sandwich that features meat, cole slaw and French fries piled high between two slices of Italian bread.

Comet Coffeeshop's food sometimes takes up to twenty minutes to arrive and it's a little different every time. Mayo portions range from a light spread to a thick smear and chili is just as likely to be ladled over elbow macaroni as rainbow rotini, but this is one of the reason diners return again and again.
