According to a social media post by his daughter Meg Schroeder, William Schroeder, who ran a pair of Downtown bookstores for many years, passed away early Friday morning, after being admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit at Froedtert Hospital.

Ron Marsh, a gentleman and a boxer, won eight fights in Milwaukee in his career in the late 1960s and early 1970s. A fan favorite here, he once blocked for future Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Gale Sayers at Kansas, boxed and then became a schoolteacher. He passed away recently at the age of 70.

Last night at about 3 a.m., I woke up to go to the bathroom. I used my phone to light my way, so as soon as my eyes adjusted, I noticed that my mom had sent me a death notice. My friend and neurosurgeon, Dr. Spencer Block - the guy who did my back surgery in 2011 - had died yesterday at age 51.
