VW built 21 million Beetles up until 2003. Thousands of those iconic Bugs are still on the road, and one Milwaukee company exists solely to build and rebuild their air-cooled engines. Mofoco, started by Randy Henning, is now owned by his son, Roy, and quietly services VW customers around the world.

The Memorial Weekend Classic returns to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove next weekend. The event will include the standard races as well as a free kids' carnival called "Leroy Butler Day at the Races" on Sunday. The carnival takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. and Butler will be there promoting his anti-bullying campaign.

Mofoco owner Roy Henning announced today that he is restoring a vintage 1970 Beetle and will give it away - along with partner sponsor WKLH - at the Paul McCartney concert at Miller Park on Tuesday, July 16.
