The legalization of booze samples in stores takes big leap

The State Assembly passed a bill today that woujld legalize the sampling of spirirts in grocery and liquor stores. Guy Rehorst - owner of Great Lakes Distillery - has lobbied for this change for four years. "As distillers, we're not asking for preferential treatment, just a level playing field with beer and wine producers," he says.


Otto's provides community with libations, jobs

More than 64 years ago, Otto Kujus opened a liquor store. Decades later, his son, Dave, has expanded the business to include seven locations, all honoring in name his deceased father. Today, the local chain employs more than 120 people.
