Sometimes, a little waiting - and maybe a little timing - is all it takes. Just ask Lincoln and Lilith Fowler, who still have photographs they took of each other outside the former firehouse at 1945 N. Bartlett Ave. 20 years ago on their fridge. The Fowlers bought the 1886 building earlier this year.

Driving around Milwaukee on Sunday morning, there were a lot of tree branches, large and small, to be seen, victims of heavy winds the day before, when our first snowflakes appeared, too. The worst victim I've heard about so far was along the path in Lake Park that runs along Lake Drive on the upper East Side.

Thanks to the hard work of many committed folks, Milwaukee is rapidly transforming the Harbor District. There's so much going on that we decided to take a short stroll with Harbor District Executive Director Lilith Fowler, so she could tell us more. In 2015, the Milwaukee Harbor District was established to develop a plan to redevelop the area south of the Third Ward, east of Walker's Point and north of Bay View. To raise awareness of the plan and the area, the first Harbor Fest takes place Oct. 7.
