The lake doesn't take a bad picture; every view is great and every shot is pretty and memorable. Surely, you've got your go-to favorite spot for a Lake Michigan photo. For me, it's the Texas Rock overlook in Bay View, which beholds Downtown and the lake from the northwest. What's yours?

Do you ever wonder what it was like for the men who landed on the moon to stand on the cratered surface and look back at the Earth; to be the only folks alive to know the feeling of being out at a place that everyone can see but that no one gets to visit and look back from? I imagine it's much like a visit to the breakwater lighthouse felt - though obviously to the Nth degree - on a recent trip out there on a Coast Guard Aids to Navigation boat.

We took to the drink for a tour of a Lafarge cement ship docked at Jones Island in the Port of Milwaukee to unload "powder" from Lafarge's cement operation in Alpena Mich., before heading out onto the lake for a stop at Grand Haven on its way back up to Alpena.
