While food is an afterthought at most bowling alleys, there's a South Side spot where they're taking the idea of "bowling alley fare" to a new level. In fact, The Junction Bar & Grill would like to be a place where you go, even if you're not into bowling.
The Junction Bar & Grill has released a new menu with a focus on fresh ingredients along with craft beer and food pairings. The restaurant, located inside JB's on 41, has a reputation for its housemade pizzas. But a new menu features fresh new offerings.
When I brought my family to JB's on 41 on a recent Saturday evening, and was greeted by their retro, funky sign out front, I expected to leave wanting to immediately wash all of our clothes. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a bright, modern facility complete with leather seats and contemporary decor.
After an eight-month renovation, JB's On 41, 4040 S. 27th St., is now a modern bowling center that's more like Bayshore Town Center's iPic than a retro '70s alley. JB's celebrates it grand opening from Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec.1.
