Embrace winter with Shorewood Chill

For the third year in a row, the village of Shorewood will host a fun, family-focused winter soiree called Winter Chill. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Lake Bluff Elementary School ice rink.

Ice skating returns to Center Street Park

Thanks to another generous donation from WaterStone Bank, the ice rink at Center Street Park will be back this winter - bringing with it a new pond hockey tournament. The rink will be open for skating on Saturday, Dec. 17, weather permitting.

Milwaukee designer hits the big time building costume for champion skater

Riverwest-based designer Timothy Westbrook has created costumes for ice skaters in the past, but at the upcoming Skate America event in Milwaukee, his work will be thrust into the spotlight like never before when Alexa Scimeca, half of the reigning U.S. national champion pairs couple, takes the ice wearing a dress he designed.

Ribbon cutting, reception marks opening of Center Street Park ice rink

Common Council President Michael J. Murphy will participate in the ribbon cutting and opening reception for the rink at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Center Street Park, 6420 W. Clarke St. Other partners in the initiative will also take part, including Roscoe, the Milwaukee Admirals mascot.
