Milwaukee Talks: new OnMilwaukee contributor Carole Caine

If you've lived anywhere in Milwaukee during the last 30 years, you know the voice of Carole Caine. Simply, Caine is a broadcasting legend here in town, serving as one half of the popular Dave & Carole morning show on 96.5 WKLH since the mid '80s. But that abruptly changed when the station didn't renew Caine's contract this summer, and just like that, she was off the air ... gone, but hardly forgotten. An now she's back.


Arts brouhaha is little more than morning radio doing its thing

Let's not overreact to Dave & Carole's incendiary and absurd comments on the arts in Milwaukee on Wednesday. After all, by very definition radio hosts are interested in just one thing, ratings. Whatever it takes, get ratings.

We all like lists. David Letterman has been doing them for years, and back in the late '90s VH1 had a hit show with celebrities presenting their lists. So, why wouldn't Dave and Carole at WKLH-FM radio have the hottest men and women in local TV?

If you're feeling a few sugarplums short of holiday spirit, "The Santaland Diaries" is a must see. The play, written by best-selling satirist David Sedaris, stars Milwaukee favorite John McGivern as an unemployed actor who becomes a Macy's elf.
