I read the news this week that Boston Store and its parent company Bon-Ton is finally throwing in the towel, and my first two thoughts were: That's a sad end for a Milwaukee pillar. How did it survive so long?

MPA calls for meeting with Bucks owners

The new majority owners of the Milwaukee Bucks are currently in the process of determining a location for the construction of a new arena, and while the timetable for an announcement remains in flux, the Milwaukee Preservation Alliance (MPA) has said it will call for meetings with important stakeholders in the project following the results of a survey it issued on the topic.

Preservation Alliance taking a survey on Bucks arena

The Milwaukee Preservation Alliance is currently conducting a survey regarding the construction of a new, multi-purpose arena that would house the Milwaukee Bucks. According to the MPA, the survey will help the group "develop a strategy that is aligned with our mission and the interests of our membership." The survey closes at midnight on Thursday, Dec. 18.

Goodwill Sale returns to Boston Store for the 20th year on Sept. 17

Boston Store is preparing for the 20th year of the semi-annual Goodwill Sale with Goodwill Industries. During the fall sale, which will take place from Sept. 17 to Oct. 4, The Bon-Ton Stores' 273 locations will accept donations of clothing and household textiles to benefit Goodwill.
