West Bend resident reintroduces Lithia Beer

West Bend's Lithia Beer - which once had the tagline "The Beer That Made Milwaukee Jealous" - was founded in 1848. In 1999, Gunter Woog, who was born in Germany but moved to West Bend in 1952, bought the trademarked name and recently partnered with Sprecher Brewery to reintroduce the beer.

Sprecher soda remains most "pop"-ular product

Randy Sprecher, who opened Sprecher Brewery in 1985, started making soda in 1988 because so many adults brought their kids on the brewery tour. Today, soda makes up a large portion of sales, thanks to the popular root beer flavor, as well as seasonal flavors like the recently-released blueberry.

It's nearly May and this means the Sprecher family will soon return to its home base in Milwaukee to enjoy another busy summer at the brewery in Glendale. Randy Sprecher and his wife Anne spend the winters in the Central Coast region of California, a warm, sunny spot that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
