Local author writes book to help teens overcome abuse

The book began as a series of journal entries written in the middle of the night. Pieced together, a story of survival unfolded, said author Eileen Alvarado, resulting in "Hope Looks Like You: Surviving Abuse," Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service reports.
