As Mike Eitel - of The Nomad, Panga, Sport Club and other venues - prepares the Turner Hall restaurant space for its new life as Tavern at Turner Hall, expected to open in early October, he walked me through the space today to give OnMilwaukee a peek at how it will look. Spoiler alert: The historic murals will remain in place.

The Turner Hall restaurant closed earlier this year, but Mike Eitel signed a lease with the Turner Ballroom Preservation Trust for the bar and restaurant space at 1034 N. 4th St.

On Thursday, Justin Furstenfeld from Blue October brings his one-man show, "An Open Book," to Turner Hall. The show features storytelling, acoustic performance and is billed as "a transparent look at his life, his mistakes and his victories."
