Last May, MillerCoors broke ground on a $50 million expansion of the Leinenkugel's 10th Street Brewery, which would bring 65 new jobs to the neighborhood just northwest of Downtown. Today, we stopped in to get a peek at the progress.

When I visited 1840 Brewing Co., I found a brewery unlike any I'd seen. In fact, it's the only brewery I've visited that doesn't have brew kettles. With only a few fermentation tanks at the back, but a plethora of oak barrels, 1840 looks as much like a winery or distillery as a brewery.

In 2016, I stood on the roof of the old Pabst distribution building between 8th and 9th Streets and Highland and Juneau Avenues with Milwaukee Brewing Company's Jim McCabe and tried to imagine how this hulking, windowless building might look as a public-facing brewery and taproom.This week I went back to see it taking shape.
