Alex Hornibrook, maligned after a mediocre passing performance last week, gave playing quarterback another shot Saturday against BYU. And Wisconsin is glad he did, as Hornibrook threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns and set the program's all-time completion record in the Badgers' 40-6 win.

Last Sunday, in the immediate, catastrophic wake of Hurricane Harvey, Texans star and Wisconsinite J.J. Watt started a Houston Flood Relief Fund, with the initial goal of raising $200,000. Through his foundation, Watt has already raised $27 million. And you can still donate.

Wisconsin, ranked No. 9 in the preseason AP Top 25 college football poll and expected to win the Big Ten West, should have a pretty good year. One player who could be particularly important is endearingly eccentric, delightfully entertaining, kind-of-fat dancing kicker Rafael Gaglianone.
