Three Lions Pub, 4515 N. Oakland Ave., is a favorite for Milwaukee area sports fans. It’s authentic, friendly and home to some of the best "bar food" in the area.
There are many things to love about Three Lions, but on Friday night I discovered one that I didn’t anticipate – a veggie burger.
Co-owners David Price and Chris Tinker put a major focus on food at Three Lions and while I usually go for the English fish and chips, a traditional pie (Shepard’s or Cottage) or the amazing wine, herb and garlic marinated chicken tenders on Friday night I ordered the Belizean burger.
The Belizean, $10.95, is made in house with mushrooms, grains, roasted red peppers and black beans. Served on a broche bun, the burger is topped with avocado/cilantro aioli, spring mix, tomato, spicy habanero sauce and one crispy tortilla strip.Â
It’s one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had and paired with a side of fries and a few Blacksmiths (1/2 Guinness and 1/2 Smithwick’s) the Belizean makes for one great meal that’s full of flavor.
