SALA gets a new look, a new menu and a new face in the kitchen

Less than a year after it celebrated its 10th birthday, East Side Italian eatery Sala da Pranzo, 2613 E. Hampshire St., has a new name, a new menu, a new decor and a new chef/partner.

Peter Balistreri, a recent Culinary Institute of America grad, joins his brother Tony in the kitchen at the new SALA – the name has been shortened – and there is a new silent co-owner behind the scenes.

The restaurant was remodeled in late spring and a new bar. At the same time a new menu – with more appetizers and small plates – was launched.
