How did I get it all done?

Often I spend a lot of time trying to squeeze in projects around the house; trying to do quiet ones when the little one is napping, for example. But, somehow, without even realizing it -- and while keeping a pretty full slate of activity otherwise -- I got a lot done around the house this weekend.

We hosted Easter (which involves shopping, cooking, cleaning, doing dishes and more -- this stuff I didn't do alone, of course) and I went to the ballpark twice (if you count Friday), but still, I managed to caulk some leaks in the gutters and fix a downspout issue. I also seeded two bald spots in the lawn around the new raised bed I built a couple hours before going to see Morrissey the weekend before.

With the help of my dad and brother I fixed a long-standing ceiling tile problem in the basement that had me scratching my head for a long time and changed the fuel filter in my car.

After realizing that Lowe's is open on Easter, I ran over and got 440 lbs. of topsoil to start correcting a grading issue in one corner of the house, too.

Plus I got the car washed and we did the weekly grocery shopping!

But I still had time to run around and play catch with my son and nephew yesterday, read a few pages in my book, watch a little TV, walk the dog and do other stuff, too.

I wish I knew how I accomplished all this -- and while not really once feeling stressed out about any of it -- because I'd love to continue to use this formula for success.

35104 I am not a parent, not did I host an Easter event at my house, but I got a lot done as well. My trick is to start early (8-9am) and to make sure that everything needed is ready. nothing like a trip to Home Depot or Lowe's to extend a project. Trying to plan every detail ahead of schedule is a nother key.

I've noticed parenthood has really improved my time management skills. I can't believe what I can get done in a few 15-minute windows of free time.
