The music of Beyonce comes to Turner Hall Ballroom on June 1

Upset you missed Beyonce's already-legendary Coachella performance late on Saturday night? Well, this news won't change that – but it might at least help!

No, Queen Bey is not coming to Milwaukee (sorry), but her music will hit a Milwaukee stage this summer, thanks to the help of VoodooHoney Records and several female musicians with "The Music of Beyonce," hosted by Turner Hall Ballroom on Friday, June 1.

The show features a cast of strong female singers – including Milwaukee's own B-Free, Lili K from Chicago and Arsene DeLay from New Orleans – paying tribute to the world's most powerful pop star by putting their own soulful spins on some of Beyonce's most popular and influential songs.

"I love producing shows where artists can interpret songs they grew up listening to, even before they knew they were going to be singers," said Jay Anderson, VoodooHoney founder and curator, in a press release. "It gives the music deeper gravity and soul."

Tickets for the show go on sale beginning Friday, April 20 at noon. For more information on the show, visit the Pabst Theater's website.
