Plain White T's will headline Rock the Burbs in September.

Plain White T's announced as headliner for Rock The Burbs outdoor concert event

Rock the Burbs, an outdoor concert event coming to The Corners of Brookfield on Saturday, Sept. 29, today announced its headlining act: Plain White T's.

Born in the late '90s, the Illinois-born alt-pop rockers grew into Top 40 radio fame with its 2006 hit single, "Hey There, Delilah," scoring two Grammy nominations for the band in 2008 for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in the process. Since then, the band's continued to thrive, releasing several albums – including the upcoming "Parallel Universe," releasing on Aug. 24 – providing a song to the Tony-nominated score for "SpongeBob SquarePants" and still touring, even hitting the Big Gig just last month.

Joining Plain White T's at Rock the Burbs in September will be Wisconsin-based bluegrass/Americana band Listening Party, as well as other acts to be announced as the event approaches.

Tickets for the Rock the Burbs are available now at the event's website, with adult admission costing $20. (For $5 off, however, use the promo code PWTS. Deal good through Sunday.) Proceeds will go toward the MACC Fund.

As for the event itself, Rock the Burbs will take place at The Corners of Brookfield from 6 until 10 p.m. – with a daytime talent show featuring music and dance performances from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information on Rock the Burbs, visit its website.
