Khalid will hit the Big Gig on Saturday, June 27.

Summerfest adds R&B pop star Khalid to its headliner lineup

Summerfest must've sent Khalid its location, because the Big Gig announced this morning that the R&B/pop superstar will join the festival's headliner lineup this summer, hitting the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on Saturday, June 27. Jessie Reyez will serve as the concert's opener.

The "Talk" crooner most recently played Milwaukee in 2018, headlining UWM's Pantherfest, as well as performing at The Rave in late 2017.

It was around the time of those Brew City performances that Khalid was beginning to make a massive name for himself as one of Top 40 radio's newest and biggest voices, releasing his debut album, "American Teen," in March of 2017 and earning five Grammy nominations in the following year – including Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Album and Song of the Year for his suicide awareness collaboration with Logic and Alessia Cara, "1-800-273-8255."

He would go on to collaborate with Halsey and Benny Blanco on the hit "Eastside" as well as with Normani on the smash "Love Lies," release his popular single "Talk" along with his sophomore album "Free Spirit" and earn another Grammy nomination this past year for Record of the Year with "Talk." And he's just 21 years old.

Tickets for the show go on sale on sale Friday, Feb. 21 at both and, as well as at the Big Gig box office. Tickets include admission to Summerfest.
