What's better than Summerfest? How about MORE Summerfest?
As first reported by Milwaukee Record, that's what the new Hacienda Beer Co. and FM 102/1 are brewing up with their new Summer Camp series, bringing several significant Big Gig grounds stage headliners to its North Avenue brewery for special intimate concerts, Q&A sessions and meet-and-greets throughout the world's biggest music festival.
Here's the current lineup coming to Hacienda Beer Co.:
Wednesday, June 26 at 2 p.m. – Walk the Moon, Judah and the Lion, Weathers
Thursday, June 27 at 6 p.m. – Neon Trees
Friday, June 28 – lovelytheband, SHAED, flora cash
Saturday, June 29 – Ra Ra Riot
Sunday, June 30 – The National (Q&A session) and Catfish and the Bottlemen
Tuesday, July 2 – Young the Giant
Wednesday, July 3 – Taking Back Sunday (Q&A session)
Friday, July 5 – The Head and the Heart
The schedule will be updated daily – but that's not the most important question. That would be: How do you get in on these private shows? Sign up at either FM 102/1's website or RSVP on one of the concert's individual Facebook pages. (As of writing, the pages for Walk the Moon and Judah & the Lion, as well as Neon Trees, are available online.) Then FM 102/1 will randomly select the lucky winners getting a bonus dose of Summerfest.
The Summer Camp concert series kicks off Wednesday. Oh, and speaking of things that kick off Wednesday: Summerfest! So stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for all things Big Gig in the coming two weeks.
