They're smiling now - but you won't be when they all leave Netflix in January.

Everything leaving Netflix in January 2020

The day the nation's feared is finally here. "Friends" will no longer be there for you – at least on Netflix.

According to the newly announced list of departures, the second most watched show on the Big Red Streaming Monolith will make its much-anticipated and highly dreaded complete retreat at the end of this year. The good news for fans is that's the '90s sitcom will almost certainly return to your streaming screens when HBO Max debuts in May 2020.

The bad news is that means another streaming service for you to subscribe to. The even worse news is that "Friends" is far from the only quality programming bailing from Netflix to start the new year – ranging from "Short Term 12" (only one of the best movies of the decade) to "Grease" to "Zombieland" and more.

But hey, at least "The Office" is still around ... for now.
