In Movies & TV

Your favorite crash survivors, hitmen and catty high schoolers will all leave Netflix at the start of the new year.

Last call for "Mean Girls," "Pulp Fiction" and more on Netflix in January

Bad news for TV fans out there planning to rewatch ABC's "Lost" (probably while howling, "WE HAVE TO GO BACK!"): Starting on Jan. 4 next year, there will no longer be a back to return to – at least on Netflix.

Indeed, the streaming service recently announced its list of dearly departed television shows and movies for the month of January 2018 – and sadly, every season of the hit J.J. Abrams mystery show is not among the survivors.

And it's by no means the only big name getting kicked off the island. The remaining seasons of "Law and Order: SVU" and "Futurama" are all getting jettisoned off Netflix next month, while on the movie side of things, a hefty list of iconic cinema classics ("Pulp Fiction," "E.T."), Oscar-winning gems ("Chicago," "Forrest Gump") and beloved modern blockbusters ("Mean Girls") are all getting the boot. And for the horror fan out there, the new year will get off to an unpleasantly gruesome start as every film in the "Saw" franchise will be cut (tee hee) from the streaming giant right after the ball drops on Jan. 1.

Judging by this brutal blood-letting of big hits, we can assume Netflix's New Year's resolution was to lose some weight for 2018 – though hopefully, like the rest of us, the company will give up on its resolution pretty quickly.

Here's the rest of everything leaving Netflix in the first month of the new year.
