"Smokey and the Bandit" will hit the big screen in honor of its star Burt Reynolds.

Pay tribute to Burt Reynolds with "Smokey & the Bandit" at the Avalon

Movie icon Burt Reynolds tragically passed away last week at the age of 82. And while hopefully all of you paid dutiful tribute to the Hollywood wild man and charismatic superstar by toasting his naked-on-a-bear-rug glory at The Safe House or Snack Boys, it only seems fitting to give him a goodbye on the big screen as well.

The Avalon Theater apparently agrees, as the Bay View cinema will host a special screening of Burt Reynolds' most iconic film, 1977's "Smokey and the Bandit" on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the screening are only $5. For more information on the film and other screenings at the Avalon, visit the theater's website.
