The Milverine Bobblehead can now be yours!

Milverine bobblehead released just in time for 414 Day

In honor of 414 Day, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, 170 S. 1st. St, unveiled a new bobblehead featuring Milwaukee's favorite half-naked fast-walker John Hamann, aka "The Milverine."

The bobbleheads, which are authorized by Hamann, are limited edition with 4,140 available, a number chosen to recognize Milwaukee Day. The wobbly figurine features a shirtless and stone-faced Hamann ready to get walking with a purpose down the streets of Brew City.

"If there's one person in the city that puts a smile on people's faces when they see them, it's Milverine," says National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar. "And everyone could use more smiles right now."

The Milverine bobbleheads are $25 each (plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8) and are expected to ship in June. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum will donate $5 from every bobblehead sold to the Wisconsin Humane Society, Hamann's charity of choice.

The Milverine bobblehead is available to buy here.

A lifelong Milwaukeean, Hamann walks "four or five hours a day, more in the summer when it's nicer weather and more when it's extremely cold." The good-natured Hamann often stops during his speed walks through the city to pose for photos.

On a personal note, I am in the midst of a strange and hilarious letter-writing correspondence with The Milverine. (Which reminds me, it's my turn to write.)

Hamann received his nickname due to his resemblance to Hugh Jackman's Marvel Comics character Wolverine. Check out this recent video from Vice about the Brew City legend here.

"We've been hoping to create a Milverine bobblehead for many years, and we're thrilled to be releasing it on Milwaukee Day," says Sklar. "The most requested bobblehead that we get locally is Milverine and we think all the people who enjoy seeing him roam the streets of Milwaukee will enjoy having his bobblehead."
