Manpower CEO trumpets "America's Best-Kept Secret" via HuffPost

Jonas Prising became ManpowerGroup's Chairman in December of 2015 and CEO in May 2014. He's vice chairman of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide and is a former chairman of the board and a current board member of Junior Achievement (JA) USA. In addition, he serves as a co-chair of Innovation in Milwaukee, an organization focused on supporting entrepreneurial leadership, and is a member of the board of directors of Kohl's Corporation.

And, like many of us, he's a passionate advocate for greater Milwaukee.

This week, as part of the HuffPost series "Listen to America," he wrote a piece titled "The Rise And Rise Of America's Best-Kept Secret." Focused on Milwaukee, of course, it's already logged a large volume of shares and is getting reaction from leaders in and around Milwaukee.

He opens the piece this way:

"Harleys. Cheeseheads. Packers. Beer. Maybe even hard-working people with Midwest values.

"That's what you might hear when you tell people you live in Milwaukee. Or you did. Now, increasingly, it's changing. The heart of Wisconn Valley. Regenerated downtown and leisure-drenched riverwalk. New NBA Milwaukee Bucks stadium. A center of advanced manufacturing. Home to hard-working people with in-demand skills. A city where we see firsthand the impact of the Skills Revolution -- where new skills emerge as fast as others become obsolete. A secondary city transforming itself.

"That's what we mean when we say America's best-kept secret. And last year, as if you need more evidence, Milwaukee was named one of America's most misunderstood cities. Who knew?"
