Find your fat pants: Girl Scout cookie season is almost here

Hopefully you didn't resolve to quit sweets for the New Year, because it's almost Girl Scout cookie time. On Friday, Jan. 11 – as in this Friday – Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast launches the 2019 cookie season.

Girl Scouts will take orders through Monday, Jan. 28, and the cookies will be available to your belly by mid-February.

National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, Feb. 22-24, kicks off cookie selling season in grocery stores and retail locations and runs through the end of March.

All of your favorite willpower-killers are available again this year, along with the new, gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip. This one features caramel, semisweet chocolate chips and a hint of sea salt. (Note: Not all councils carry the same lineup of Girl Scout Cookies so check out the Girl Scout Cookie varieties offered in southeastern Wisconsin here.)

If you don't know a Girl Scout and don't have a Facebook friend with an enterprising offspring, visit here or use the official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app that's free on iOS and Android devices.

All of the net revenue from sales stays in southeastern Wisconsin, meaning that when you purchase cookies from a Girl Scout, you're making an investment in girls' leadership capabilities, now and in the future. You're also doing a great service to your taste buds.

That said, how many boxes of Thin Mints is too many? Asking for someone who doesn't register single-digit number answers.
