For a sweet gift option, stop in at Crumby Art Bakehouse & Cakery to paint cookies with mom. Paint your own cookie kits are $12 and include two cookie canvases (baked cookies with pre-printed designs), one cookie palette with edible paint and a paintbrush. Stay to paint in the store or take the kit to paint together at home.

Wehr Nature Center

Help mom get her garden started with native plants from the Friends of Wehr's annual sale. Nursery-grown native wildflowers suitable for sun or shade, wet or day, will be sold in four-inch pots, including spring ephemerals, prairie plants, woodland plants and wetland plant species. Come early for the best selections. All proceeds support programs and facilities at Wehr Nature Center.
Boerner Botanical Gardens

Sunday, May 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shake off your winter coat and enjoy a stroll through the Boerner Botanical Gardens with the whole family. Wild flowers, spring bulbs and flowering trees will be in bloom. Plus, the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens will be offering free kids' activities, make-and-take gifts for mom, Sparkle the Clown and more. Gardens admission is regular price but kids' activities are free.
