All the fun of podcasts - no headphones required.

Listen up: PodFest MKE comes to No Studios this week

Podcasting is on the rise, and there are no signs of stopping. It's grown into a mainstream medium with over 700,000 podcasts and listenership that's quickly approaching the 100 million mark.

A big part of the reason podcasting has taken off is that it is a passive medium. In a world where everyone is multi-tasking and on-the-go, podcasts cut through the clutter in a way that video and written content cannot. Unlike video or written content, we are able to consume audio while working out, cooking dinner or driving; it doesn't require our full attention the way that video or written content does.

Podcasts are transforming how we learn, connect and do business – and they're making waves right here in Milwaukee.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, GGMM and Bridge the City are hosting the first ever PodFest MKE, a learning and listening event for anyone interested in starting a podcast, growing their current podcast or listening to a showcase of local podcasting talent.

Whether you're on the cutting edge or just getting comfortable with podcasting, you can count on PodFest MKE to spark some new, bright ideas for you or your business. You'll even hear live podcasts from OnMilwaukee's FoodCrush, Colliers' MKE Forward, Damn Near 30, Cream City Pacers, The Brimful Life and Bridge the City. Notable podcast guests will include Lt Governor Mandela Barnes, artist Reggie Baylor, The Beer Runner Tim Cigelske and more.

The event will be held at No Studios, 1037 W. McKinley Ave., on Thursday, Nov. 14 with education beginning and 1 p.m. and entertainment beginning at 4:45 p.m. The event will feature food provided by Cousins Subs during the intermission and giveaways provided by Koss that all attendees are eligible for.

In each episode, Bridge the City includes steps you can take to build community and make change within our city.

MKE Forward Powered by Colliers

Colliers International-Wisconsin is proud to present MKE Forward, a podcast focused on our Milwaukee community that showcases leaders who are moving the city forward. This is not a podcast about real estate. Rather, MKE Forward is about having open conversations with Milwaukeeans about what as a city we are doing right and what more we can do to be good stewards of our community

OnMilwaukee's FoodCrush

Get hungry! On the FoodCrush podcast, OnMilwaukee food and dining writer Lori Fredrich and culture editor Matt Mueller tackle the ins and outs of dining, food facts, interesting ingredients and myriad topics related to food and beverage. Expect smart talk, lively debate and plenty of fascinating conversations with some of the scene's most interesting people.

The Brimful Life with Beth Ridley

Hosted by Beth Ridley, The Brimful Life podcast is a partnership with BizTimes Media that provides solutions to achieve professional wellbeing and organizational health. In this series, Beth makes business personal by getting to know inspiring business leaders that you should know. Cream City Pacers

Cream City Pacers had an idea: We all run Milwaukee. We know all the good running trails and the main races. But how much do we know about each other and the impact we are making on this city? Cream City Pacers seeks to connect the people of Milwaukee together by interviewing the Pacers that are helping run this city.
