"The Bachelor" creator says Molly's leaving Milwaukee
While controversy continues over Jason Mesnick's method of breaking up with Melissa Rycroft on ABC's "The Bachelor," there's a tinge of local pride for Milwaukee resident and ultimate choice Molly Malaney, who hails from Grand Rapids, Mich.
When asked about rumors that the show was staged or scripted, Executive Producer Mike Fleiss responds, "We don't do that, we've never done that and we never will do that. The greatest thing about unscripted television is that it's unpredictable."
Fleiss, who is the creative mind behind "The Bachelor," "Superstar USA" and "High School Reunion," spent Tuesday night with the happy couple in Los Angeles.
"I talked with Molly about being the next bachelorette for two and half weeks or so before the 'After the Rose Ceremony' special. She was still obviously upset about Jason and wasn't sure. She'd asked for a release from confidentiality to talk about it with her family and friends. We gave her that and I know her friends were really supportive," Fleiss says.
It was Monday night's unexpected twist that took Malaney out of the running to be the next bachelorette.
Fleiss says that he expects Malaney -- who works as a buyer's assistant at Kohl's -- will leave Milwaukee at some point.
"I know she's definitely planning to (move to Seattle) but she's got a job and family; I'm sure she'll do it when it makes sense. But she's definitely committed to that," Fleiss says.
Tim Cuprisin wrote that he talked to Molly Malaney yesterday and she said that she's NOT moving any time soon.

Tinge of pride??? Far from it. This girl was smug and arrogant and deserves that jerk who has no problem dumping a girl and making out with another 2 seconds later. Idiots. FAIL.
