Christmas comes early with discounted "Christmas Carol" tickets from The Rep

Christmas may still be months away (so ... only about a week or so away from mall Santas and carol-filled TV commercials), but 'tis the season for saving some cash on tickets to one of Milwaukee's most heartwarming holiday traditions.

On Monday, Sept. 25, the Milwaukee Rep will cut up to 25 percent off ticket prices for the second year of its reimagined take on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." Patrons can save on this one-day sale by ordering tickets – either online at The Rep's website beginning at 7 a.m., over the phone at (414) 224-9490 starting at 9 a.m. or in person at the company's box office located at 108 E. Wells St. – and using the promo code DICKENS.

Then congratulations, Christmas has come early, and you'll have discounted tickets to see the beloved holiday show – and the traditional VIP local celebrity walk-ons scheduled to appear, including Very Rev. Timothy L. Kitzke, Milwaukee PBS "The Arts Page" host Sandy Maxx, FOX 6 Wake Up anchor Kim Murphy, Milwaukee Admirals defenseman Jimmy Oligny and OnMilwaukee's own Molly Snyder. Hey, maybe she'll run into fellow OnMilwaukeean-turned-Dickensian Londonite Jeff Sherman there!

Here are the scheduled dates for the walk-on cameos:

  • Molly Snyder: Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.
  • Very Rev. Timothy K. Kitzke: Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sandy Maxx: Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
  • Jimmy Oligny: Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Kim Murphy: Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

And while this sale only runs for one day, "A Christmas Carol" will run from Nov. 28 through Dec. 24 at The Pabst Theater. For more information on the show – and the rest of the company's season – visit the Rep's website.
