Toebow was formed a few years back by veterans of the NYC music scene, including members of BOBBY and Zula. They are on the road promoting Themes, the full-length followup to their debut EP Spirit Mane. The Brooklyn-based psych-pop band showcases a tapestry of positive, upbeat sounds that are at times odd and unexpected but remain palatable and accessible. Quirky guitar lines flutter over bouncy bass and rumbling percussion, while smooth male-female vocal harmonies, lush synth lines and the occasional drum machine tie the gentle chaos neatly together. http://toebowband.com/ Sandor- https://www.facebook.com/sandor1993/ TICKETS- toebow-anodyne.eventbrite.com

MATTHEW DAVIES CD RELEASE SHOW- FRIDAY, JUNE 7TH 7:30PM
MATTHEW DAVIES CD RELEASE SHOW- FRIDAY, JUNE 7TH 7:30PM More Info MATTHEW DAVIES “FLOWERS AND TICKET STUBS” CD RELEASE SHOW- $7 adv tickets- HERE - or $10 door Dear listener, In August 2018, five musicians (myself included) got together at the MGDs rehearsal space in Kansas City, MO. I’d sent the other players charts and demos of the songs months ahead of time, but we hadn’t played together before that evening. Not much was said during set up and we just got into the music. Things loosened up and, after a few passes of each song, we called it a night. The next day we took our gear to Element Recording Studios, set it all up in one room, and made this record. I’ve spent many hours in recording studios doing overdubs and trying to get the ‘perfect’ take. It’s a great way to make records, but it wasn’t what I was after for this project. The songs on this record are as real and as close to me as anything I’ve done before, and I wanted the finished product to reflect the beauty, spontaneity, and energy that exists within my life (flaws, flubs and all). The opening tune, “On the Borderline”, is a song about true friendship. “Sentimental Dude” came to me in a flash while running a fever and feeling weak/ill. “Metropolitan” is a love story dealing with big city themes and beauty in an art historical context. “The Busker” is kind of a Hemingway influenced machismo day-in-the-life account of a young and restless street musician. “Something So Good” is an attempt to shed light on the darkest parts of the human experience. Betrayal, insecurity, depression, anger...a sort of helpless pining for someone to give you an answer or at least ease the pain. “Do You Have to Ask?” is meant to be a simple and timeless song about unconditional love. I was thinking about Tommy Makem and Irish ballads when I wrote it...in the garden...with my daughter, Remi Jane. All of these tunes can be, and have been, performed solo acoustic. That’s how I got my start and it’s a format that is near and dear to me. I set out to tell stories when I write and hope that comes across on my new album, “Flowers and Ticket Stubs”. -Matt Davies (regarding the new album, “Flowers and Ticket Stubs”) TICKETS- matthewdavies-anodyne.eventbrite.com
CHRIS HAISE BAND RECORD RELEASE WITH ZACH PIETRINI, CULLAH AND THE COMRADES- FRIDAY, JUNE 14TH 7PM
CHRIS HAISE BAND RECORD RELEASE WITH ZACH PIETRINI, CULLAH AND THE COMRADES- FRIDAY, JUNE 14TH 7PM More Info $10 advance tickets available here-- chrishaiseband-anodyne.eventbrite.com or $15 at the door Chris Haise Band (pronounced Hi-zee) announces their 2nd album, “Suburban View”, bringing a whole new polished sound filled with hook filled ballads and toe tappers. The folk/rock Dylan-esque album will be released June 14th,2019. The forthcoming album is a follow-up to Chris’s 2017 solo album entitled "Your Ugly Friends", which was nominated for multiple 88Nine’s Music Awards, was selected as NSAI "One to Watch", and won Dylan Days Singer/Songwriter Contest. “Suburban View” comes on the steps of CHB already receiving a WAMI Award Nomination for 2019. Self-recorded and engineered by band member Mark Harrig, “Suburban View” is composed of 7 tracks that reflect on Haise’s past experiences. The album speaks to generational uncertainty trying to figure out a place in a changing world with songs like “Reciprocity” and “Help Myself”. Although a few songs on the album have a familiar feel to Haise’s solo album, songs like “Women in Black” and “The Breakman” show Haise’s growth as a songwriter. Haise also addresses hot button issues such as mental health with the powerful tune “Night Shadows”. The album release show will take place June 14, 2019 at Anodyne Coffee (224 W Bruce St, Milwaukee, WI 53204) with support from Zach Pietrini (solo) and Cullah & The Comrades (full band).
