The Farmer's Wife to close in West Allis

The time has come to enjoy your last carry-out meal at The Farmer's Wife, 6533 W. Mitchell St. in West Allis

The sobering news was shared in a message on Facebook, which noted that the restaurant will be closing its doors beginning May 30.

Owner, Robin Mastera, says that she'll be releasing a schedule of specials in the coming days for folks who'd like to come and support the restaurant or say farewell in the coming days.

She says she also hopes that she can host guests in the dining room during the last few days before the closing, if she is able.

"I never imagined that we would close due to these uncontrollable circumstances," says Mastera, whose business would have hit the four-year mark on Oct. 1.

"But I'm so thankful to have had such amazing customers. Every day there were at least ten reasons to smile, even amongst all the challenges. And I remain grateful for all of it. But I'm really looking forward to what comes next; it's not the last that people will see from me."
